I feel college has taken all the joy out of reading for me this past semester and I am not happy with this. That is why I am compiling this list. Hopefully by seeing it everyday it will push me to read more. When I actually sit down with a book, I love reading. So here it goes. 12 books I aim to read over the next 12 months.

1. Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk
This is kind of cheating. I am already reading this book. I loved the movie and thought I should read it. So I am.

2. To India With Love: From New York To Mumbai
Ok, so this is not really reading.
Its a scrap book. Of pictures and experiences concerning India.
I want to go. And I want to own this book

3. Alice In Wonderland - Lewis Carol
Have never read it. Seems like a shame.
Meant to be better than the animated movie.

4. The Rum Diary - Hunter S. Thompson
In preparation for the film of the same name, which may never be released.

5. Sex, Drugs, And Cocoa Puffs - Chuck Klosterman
This guy came to UNM but I missed it.

6. Corn Flakes With John Lennon - Robert Hilburn
L.A Times music critic retells his experiences with various musical legends, from Kurt Cobain to Elton John. Why would I not want to read this?

7. On The Road - Jack Kerouac
This is one of those books that everybody has read and that everybody loves. Well I want in!
Amazon labels it 'one of the most important novels of the century'. Beginning of the beat movement. I do not think I need to continue..

The book focuses on two days in the life of a confused, disillusioned teenager.
One of those books.

9. Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides
So the same guy who wrote The Virgin Suicides, which I obviously love. Not one to shy away from complicated subjects, Eugenides takes on the story of a young girl who grows into a man. Again, this book has received good reviews, and I hope to find out why.
Oh and it was featured on Oprah's book club.
(I cannot decide whether or not this is a good thing)

10. Lunar Park - Bret Easton Ellis
I have read everything else by him and I think its about time I read his latest book, Lunar Park. Rules of Attraction and Less Than Zero are two of my favourite books. The book is meant to be more autobiographical, with the central character named Bret Easton Ellis, however the facts do not stick to the truth. Excited to read this.

11. Hunger -Knut Hamsun
A book about one man's experience of starvation and degradation.
Gained high reviews from everywhere.
Maybe it will help me to complete a master cleanse successfully??

12. Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov
I always here about this book, but have never had the chance to read it.
The story of a middle aged man's love affair with a 12 year old girl.
